Who was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.?
Often times students hear the name Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., but they do not know how his courageous actions helped improve life for all Americans. More importantly, Dr. King challenged Americans to create and maintain a nation which was built on the words, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal".
I would like students to watch the videos below and go to the links below. I have also provided a small reading with questions for extra credit. Students are given a day-off from school to honor Dr. King; therefore, it is important to know why we celebrate this individual's accomplishments.
