This small handout clearly outlines all the requirements for developing a working newscast. This project is encompassing, which means it will challenge each student to demonstrate his/her reading and writing skills. Throughout this project students will have to work independently, in a small group, and in a large group setting. Each student has been given unique roles to help run a news organization. One of those roles will be as a reporter. Please feel free to download and print this document. Students, do not lose this paper!
News Story Organizer
Each student is responsible for being a reporter. This graphic organizer will help students organize important events and terms.
Daily Planning Log
An important tool for all members of a newscast is an daily planner. Students will need to record his/her daily accomplishments and goals. This planner will be collect on 5/18.
Before a newscast can be broadcasted, a rundown must be created. A News Rundown is the official list of stories that will be in a newscast. The rundown list the stories in order they play. Before students can broadcast, they must develop a rundown. This may also be downloaded as a template for Google Docs, please ask Mr. Siwek to send you a copy through Google.
